Dr. Zhai Xiaoyan is currently a senior engineer ofin Hhydrology and Wwater Rresources at China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, and has served as a technical member of National Flash Flood Disaster Prevention and Control Project in China since 2015. Dr. Zhai has long been engaged in the field of hydrological simulation, forecasting and warning in small and medium-sized catchments, hydrological simulation under a changing environment and so on. Dr. Zhai played an important role in constructingdeveloping the National Small Catchment Dataset, proposing the framework for national flash flood forecasting and warning at small catchment sthe scaleof small catchments, developing the China Flash Flood Hydrological model, and constructingdeveloping the national flash flood disaster warning, forecasting and warning platformfor national flash flood forecasting and warning. TheHer achievements have been adopted by the office of national flood control and drought relief headquarters for the flash flood prevention and control across China, which is helpingful to realize the transformation from the monitoring and early warning of flash floods tothe accurate and timely flash flood warning and forecasting in China. As thea project leader or technical leader, Dr. Zhai has undertaken more than 20 national-, provincial- and ministerial-level scientific research and production projects, including thae National Natural Science Foundation project, key projects of the Ministry of Water Resources, key projects of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and a National Key Research and Development project. Dr. ZhaiShe has published 35 academic papers (16 SCI-indexed papers), including 16 papers where she was as the first or corresponding authors, and took part in editing four monographs and six authorized patents.
