Affected by the climate changes, the extreme rainfall and flood disaster show an increasing trend of occurrence in the world, which brought new challenges in the development of human socialite. With the progress of hydro-informatics technology, numerical simulation for risk assessment and real-time modelling has become one of the main technical measures to the flood disasters prevention and control. However, the wide variety of floods characteristics and the large differences of disasters in the causes and impacts, and the varying conditions and difficulties in data collection both obstructs the modelling selection and application. According to requirements from risk assessment to real time simulation, how to choose the most efficient hydrological modelling tools with different data conditions is a specialized issue worthy of in-depth research and discussion.
